Phillip Moose (1921-2001)
Known primarily for his North Carolina mountain landscapes and paintings from his travels throughout the world, Philip Moose was a very private man that lived near Blowing Rock, North Carolina for over three decades. In 1948 he received the Pulitzer prize for art and throughout his life was awarded dozens of awards for his teaching art and paintings.Known mainly for his realistic paintings, Moose also painted abstracts and collages as well. Collected throughout the United States and many other countries, Moose painted passionately until he became ill during the last years of his life.
